Project Goals

With your help we will make the Park a greener, safer, and attractive destination with a wide array of uses for the entire community.

Linking the Community to its Open Spaces

The purpose of the Ely Memorial Park Improvement Plan is to connect Ely Park, Lambertville’s largest open space to the east, with the neighborhoods it serves by creating functional, fun places for multiple uses. Spaces at the edge of the existing park will be located primarily across from each of the cross-streets from Jefferson to Elm effectively connecting Ely Park to the largest western-most open space, the Delaware and Raritan Canal Multi-purpose Path (aka The Towpath).

Improved Streetscape

Each of key area will have its own character and integrated art elements, yet will be unified into a cohesive design by wrought iron fencing with common construction and planting materials. Locating these key areas at the cross-streets will make a case for creating more visible, safer street crossings.

Building Community

Ely Memorial Park will become the center of community life, increasing opportunities for residents to develop connections, friendships and working relationships.
