Dear Friend of Ely Park,
What if you could SEE the GOOD your GIFT does…
Right in your own backyard?
Sadly, charities that change lives are the exception, not the rule. Elizabeth Blair learned this the hard way. $25 went toward a mailing featuring children in need. An appeal from a pet rescue organization led to a check for another $25. And on it went. The truth is that some of our donations actually achieve very little because the cost of processing means that only a tiny portion of the money will be put to work.
Give Close to Home - You’ve heard of “eat local” and “buy local”. Well, this holiday season we’re asking you to “give local”. By donating directly, you’ll do good locally. Friends of Ely Park will touch and enrich the lives of each of us. Our mission is to redesign and revitalize Ely park, Lambertville’s only large, community-shared green space, transforming it into a new and inviting centerpiece of community life, a destination for recreation, and a symbol of our town’s distinctive character. Learn more about the Friends of Ely Park project.
Sorry, No Tchotchkes - With your donation, you’ll receive no address labels, gifts or little American flags. Instead of subsidizing future trinket mailings, your dollars will go directly to the cause you care about. In short, you’ll have the chance to see, firsthand, the good that you have done.
The Fine Print - Friends of Ely Park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization so your donation is fully tax-deductible. Moreover, we are members of your community and, with a full heart, can assure you Friends of Ely Park is ethically above reproach.
Where the Rubber Meets the Road - People like us care about our community and share its “can do” spirit. Please do what you can today by supporting this important grassroots effort. You’ll not only enjoy the pleasures of the future Ely Park green space, but have the satisfaction of knowing your dollars went toward the community good.
Please give now by donating via Pay Pal (click on the yellow donate button to the right), or by sending your tax deductible check today paid to Friends of Ely Park, 8 Coryell Street, Lambertville NJ 08530.
As a lifelong resident of Lambertville, I personally thank you for your generous contribution and wish you and your family the happiest of holidays.
Sincerely,
Jim Hamilton
